About Us

Comfort and Hope is a Volunteer-Led Community Support Group that has been set up to meet the needs of those dealing with loss. Having been through loss ourselves, when we needed someone to talk to and not judge us we felt there wasn’t anything to meet our needs. After speaking to our friends and family, this was found to be a familiar story.

We got together as a team of passionate individuals who believed strongly that everyone from all walks of life are important enough to be listened to. Comfort and Hope Bereavement Support was suggested as a name and so the journey began.

Our 3 Aims are to provide:

* Listening Support – To offer a safe, caring space where you can talk openly and be truly heard, without judgement or pressure.

* Hands on Support – To provide practical, hands-on support to help ease day-to-day challenges during times of loss.

* Moving Forward Support – To support you as you move forward in your own time, helping you find hope, strength and a way forward honouring your loss.

Our service is based on the key principle that we offer a safe place for our clients 18+ to explore their grief and learn how to manage the process totally free of charge. We offer 1 to 1 support in person, drop-in support and regular well-being checks. We cover the whole of Rhondda Cynon Taff so a venue will always be close by.

You can access our services in many ways. Through GP practices, Mental Health Services, Support services and many other great service providers. Most importantly you can refer yourself if you don’t feel you want to go to any of the mentioned services.
